Zeekr, the premium electric vehicle unit of Chinese automaker Geely, will be ready in 2024 to mass produce the M-Vision concept in partnership with Waymo, Alphabet’s self-driving unit, which will be deployed as part of the latter’s ride-hailing fleet in the US. The minivan is built on Geely’s SEA-M architecture designed specifically for autonomous vehicles with Level 4 automation or above, which pilot themselves without a human driver under certain conditions, according to standards from the Society of Automotive Engineers. The two companies announced a partnership to develop driverless taxis integrated with Waymo’s self-driving software last December. [Geely release, in Chinese]
