Foxconn’s facilities in Zhengzhou lifted their 56-day “closed-loop” management system on Thursday as China gradually eases its Covid curbing measures across the country this week, according to a post on Foxconn’s official WeChat account. “Closed-loop” management requires workers to only move between certain locations within their work areas and to remain on site even overnight. Commuter bus services to the factory have also now resumed, the announcement stated, adding that Foxconn had detailed the requirements for moving out of the dormitories and continuing to work to its employees. The facility in Zhengzhou is one of the largest iPhone assembly plants in the world. Since October, it has been hit by strict Covid zero-related restrictions and worker unrest, and reported an 11% monthly revenue decline in November. [Foxconn, in Chinese]
